Euphoria: Essential Edition (published by Stonemaier Games) seamlessly combines the original core game of Euphoria: Build a Better Dystopia with its expansion modules while incorporating a streamlined board layout, updated player mats, and refined rule adjustments. Moving away from traditional worker placement or basic card drafting, this title revolves around dice manipulation, resource production, tunnel digging, market construction, and area allegiance. The primary gameplay objective centers on authority placement: players command custom steampunk dice representing oblivious workers to gather commodities, unlock recruits, and place all 10 of their Authority Star tokens across various factions and territories before their opponents.

The primary mechanical hurdle stems from managing worker Knowledge and Morale. In this dystopian world, the numbers on your dice reflect how aware your workers are of their oppression. If a player allows their collective worker Knowledge value to reach too high during a retrieval phase, their workers realize they are trapped in a dystopia and desert the faction, forcing the player to lose dice. Designed for 1 to 6 players aged 14 and up, a complete match plays out across an engaging 60 minutes. To achieve victory, leaders must balance keeping worker awareness low while maximizing resource throughput, digging tunnels to infiltrate rival territories, and building restrictive markets to lock down key areas.
