Rummage through the neighborhood trash, dodge ferocious alley cats, and bank the finest junk before getting caught empty-handed in a chaotic, push-your-luck backyard dice-rolling party game.
Dumpster Dice (published by Outset Media / OSM) leans directly into cheeky cartoon dumpster diving and rapid dice-chucking fun. Stripping away heavy rulebooks and complicated boards, the game focuses on lively risk management, greed, and table banter. The primary gameplay objective centers on score banking and trash collection: players take on the role of opportunistic scavengers digging through the neighborhood dumpster, rolling specialized dice to collect high-value discarded treasures, leftover snacks, and shiny oddities while trying to avoid the hazards lurking at the bottom of the bin.
The primary mechanical hurdle stems from navigating classic press-your-luck probability. On their turn, the active player rolls a pool of custom dumpster dice depicting various pieces of junk along with hazard symbols—most notably feisty alley cats, broken glass, or the dreaded garbage truck. Players can set aside scoring dice and roll the remaining dice again to chase a bigger haul. However, continuing to rummage increases the odds of rolling hazard icons. Accumulate too many hazards before choosing to "bank" your score, and you bust—losing all the scavenged treasures accumulated on that turn and leaving the dumpster empty-handed. Designed for 2 or more players aged 8 and up, a complete game wraps up in a brisk 15 to 25 minutes. To reign as king of the alley, you must know when to push for extra junk, read the dice odds, and walk away with your haul before the cats chase you out.
